I’m happy to announce that my photo “Badger Dream Scene” has been awarded as “Commended” in the Animals Portraits category in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013 competition, organised by the Natural History Museum in London. I’m also glad to see two friends; Jonathan Lhoir and Jérémie Villet with commended images in the competition, see you in London…

In December 2010, the United Nations has declared 2013 as the International Year of Water Cooperation and will be launched today on 11 February 2013 in the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
Water is essential to all life. In our modern society, we take water very often for granted, but it should not be forgotten that over 800 million people don´t have access to clean drinking water.
Let´s take conscience of this situation and save water wherever we can in our daily life…

The Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, appear on the northern sky when energetic, charged particles from the sun interact with the magnetic field of the earth. This winter, from November 2012 to April 2013, intense solar activity and solar winds are expected. So everybody still has the chance to capture a great aurora photo !
This picture was taken on a recent trip to Senja Island in Northern Norway at the end of December 2012.
