Happy New Year everyone !
The Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, appear on the northern sky when energetic, charged particles from the sun interact with the magnetic field of the earth. This winter, from November 2012 to April 2013, intense solar activity and solar winds are expected. So everybody still has the chance to capture a great aurora photo !
This picture was taken on a recent trip to Senja Island in Northern Norway at the end of December 2012.
